I pluged my new firewire card(3 port PCI host controller) into one of the slots in my computer and nothing happened. No software came with it so i assumed it would happen automatically. I have a dell dimension series 4550 I hope its compatible. Please help me!!!

check the PCI spec of your board, & your card if same, try other devices to make sure your PCI slots actually work! if continues test card on alternate system to verify, hardware should be auto detected by winXP and XP should assigned it drivers.
