**** her, ur 17, not 7. if u want a bf, then u have one. you sure r mature enough. just dont tell her b/c all she'll do is yell or something. its not really any of her buisiness anyways, its your life not hers and she shouldnt have the privelledge to tell u when u can have a bf and when u cant when u didnt grow up with her so she doesnt really know if you're ready or not anyways if u barely know her.

Are you sure you are ready for a boyfriend? Is it loving that it is? Or just high school issue? Do you feel ok about lying to your mother and sneaking to have a bf behind your momma's back? Im gettin sarcastic. If yes, you got an issue. The 5th commandment states, "Obey your parents." I understand it is hard to apply to our lives. I suggest u to introduce your bf to ur mother as a friend first. Bond. Get to know each other and so. Talk more to your mother that u feel ready and show that u are ready for a bf. Take it slow with your bf. Importantly, sex is to be kept pure till marriage. Premarital sex is an abomination to the Lord and often results in a broken relationship, unwanted pregnancy, abortion, and diseases. Make a difference in the world.

I believe in being open with your mom; she has your best interest at heart. She is getting to know you better and honesty is the best policy for building trust. Maybe you can invite your boyfriend to come over for a home-cooked meal, watch a movie, all with the family so they can get to know each other. When parents feel a boyfriend is sincere and will treat her daughter with respect, they are more likely to show trust in this area; if on the other hand, a parent gets that gut feeling which causes uneasiness, it could be for your protection. Hope you receive the best of being a daughter!

I guess my question is, why do you want to tell your mom at all? Are you living with her now? Does she support you? Has she given you a reason why she doesn't want you to date (beyond simply, because she said so)? You may want to have a real conversation with your mom and just gain an understanding of her thinking. It may not change your mind about having a boyfriend at 17, but it will hopefully at least draw you closer to her, and also give you an easier route to tell her you are already dating.
Beyond that, just think about the potential consequences of telling your mom. I'm not advocating lying at all, but the consequences of telling her may be more than you can handle, so think about that as you think more about telling her.

If he is over 18 you may want to wait.
Until you are 18 legally you can't be with someone over 18.
There is a saying that goes 17 will get you 20. Meaning if he is over 18 and your mom would file charges that he could go to jail for 20 years.

It depends on how old you are if you are 13 or younger you should just tell her that you have a crush on a boy and if your older than 13 ask her if you can go out on a date if you set a curfew and a consequence if you break that curfew.
I Really Hope That This Helps!
Good Luck!

I would tell her. It's less stressful than hiding the truth. I would tell her I appreciate her concern, but that you feel that you are responsible enough to have a relationship at the age of 17. Maybe she will appreciate your honesty. If not, tell her you respected her enough to let her know, instead of sneaking and doing it behind her back.

At 17, you should be able to date boys. I think you could demonstrate to her that you can handle a guy and that you won't ruin your future by being too involved, relying on a particular relationship, and certainly by not getting pregnant.
