Sweetie, I have brown eyes too. For me, the most flattering colors would be gold, "smokey" eye(deep blue, purple, or black), and purple, maybe?

It depends also on your skin tone and hair color. I have brown eyes, but red hair and fair skin. I choose to go with the earth tones (browns mainly). You can get sets that have several different colors pretty cheap. I would buy a set that has the different color families and try them on. Some major department stores also have free make overs, or people that give free advice. Try going to a make up counter and see what the specialist says (if you don't trust your own opinion).

Purple. It's very complimentry if not used drasticly. ex: dark purple around the base of the eyelid and blend in with a lighter shade while excending to the brow... dont use a very dark colour all over the base.. too much.
Dark greens and whites look good as well.. depending on your skin tone. if you have dark skin, gold looks beautiful with brown/hazel eyes.
either way.. no matter what colour your eyes are... never use the same colour as your eyes ex: blue eyes.. blue shadow.
it blends them in and you lose the eye-popping effect shadow is suppose to give you
try experimenting with pale colours with a dark base,
everyone has a signature colour.. you just gotta find yours!

Go with a shimmery brown based eye shadow that has a pink or purple blend in it. That looks really pretty with brown eyes. GOOD LUCK!!!

Something with a red or violet base will make them stand out. Try using a red copper, a deep purple, an eggplant, or a violet.
