Tumors occur when a mutagen causes changes in the DNA of a cell, causing the cell to multiply out of control, forming a tumor and sometimes cancer.

That is kind of a bad question. It isn't exactly the cell cycle that malfunctions. It is something else that mutates that then causes proliferation. I guess what the teacher wants you to say, though, is that the cell does not stay in G0 and instead continues on through mitosis.

Tumors ocuur when something(carcinigins) changes the DNA code of a cell that makes it so that cell undergoes mitosis at a much faster rate than usual, this causing an abnormal growth.
some causes are chemicals, radiation, foods, pathogens, chemical/physical irratation, or other eviormental factors.
THEREFORE THE PHASE IS MITOSIS

G0 (G zero). It's when the cell stops reproducing, forming a tumor, also known as cancerous.
