Just to let people know to help you reply better: I'm 110 pounds. So would it go a lot faster? How do you change the carburator, ignition and stuff?? and how do you get this turbo stuff? and is that all legal? And what would it matter if you could make it go faster, its illegal anyways to drive 49cc scooters on the highway right? :S thanx...

i think 1 liter is about 1000cc. so 45cc is really small. probably a scooter or moped engine size.

You cannot go off cc's to determine speed. cc is the size of the engine, in cubic centimeters...

Typically, 49cc bikes are scooters - most dont go over 35-45 mph (around 70kph). However, a person recently beat the land speed record on the Bonneville Salt Flats with a streamliner 49cc engine - at 139mph (200+kph).

Totally dependant upon GEARING.

How many feet in a pound?

49cc is a unit of volume, cubic centimeters. In an automotive context, it's the total volume of all the cylinders with the pistons at their lowest positions. 49cc engines are usually 1 cylinder, and found almost exclusively in scooters.

Your typical 49cc scooter will usually claim a top speed of about 25mph, or about 40kph, but that can vary with the weight of the rider, fuel, and whether it's turboed or otherwise enhanced. (Yes, people put turbos on their scooters)

The term "cc" refers to the displacement of the bike's engine in cubic centimeters. Kilometers per hour is a way to measure speed. So conversion my be difficult.

However, you can convert KPH to MPH with the site provided below. My Honda SA50 is a 49cc bike and can reach speeds of 45mph easily on a level surface(up hill, forget it).

A cc is a cubic centameter its usally used to measure motorcycle or 4-wheeler engines and a kilometer is a mesure of distence so they have nothing to do with each other if you want to convert the english unit of messure (miles per hour, mph) to metric (kilometers per hour, kph) then just look on any cars speedometer they normally have both marked

alrite,
a pocket bike with a 49cc alone isnt gonna cut the legal limit, too slow.
you could get a 110cc motor bike and its very possible of hitting 60mph instead of the 30-35mph on a 49cc,
but dont get me wrong, you can modify the hell out of the 49cc by changing the head kit to a lyk 70cc and raiseing compression along with a NGK spark plug..
and for the carb i say go for a walboro, get high performance pipe and air flow kit, and im not too sure about the turbo because 1.) the engine isnt made for extra compression directly into head and 2.) i dont think they even make them,
however it is possible to make them, but power wise, im not sure wat will happen..
but with all the mods i named besides the turbo you can probley hit a good 45-55mph.
but i dont think its big enough or log enough to get registered, and it may have to pass test like stability and safety.
i would go with a 110cc pocket bike because they are easier to register but check with DMV before registering it..
enough??

Depends on how fat you are. "cc"s are a unit of volume for engine displacement. Speed is power used to move something. A fat guy will go alot slower than a skinny chick. The 2 numbers do not relate in any way.

This is the max engine size for a moped in France .
If the engine is not customised, max speed should be arround 45 Km/H

Changing the carburator, ignition and stuff, you could reach 90 Km/H
