My rent for my council flat is £70 per week, and due to illness I cannot take a full time job at the moment.

This is a benefits calculator where you can enter your rent details and income details, and it will give you an idea of how much Housing Benefit you are entitled to. Don't worry that it's from the Edinburgh Council website; the same rules aplpy to everyone.

You won't be entitled to full housing benefit but you will be entitled to some housing benefit. You need to enquire with your Housing Benefits section at your local authority. Or an independent agency like welfare rights should be able to give you an estimate on how much HB you would get.

You should be. I dont see how they would deny you. How can you live off of that? Why dont you look for a better paying job?
