Hmm, Well I recommend A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. It has magic, adventure, and it's not "kiddie". It's a very large book and a great read. The sequel is just as long and just as good. It's called Rebel Angels. I hope I helped. ^^

You should read " The Thief Lord". Most of it is kinda real, but it has a fantasy ending. And the "Artemis Fowl" series. Some of those books have pages lower than 350 but some of the newer ones have pages closer to that.

Several books to choose from in my humble opinion. Try AMAZONIA by James Rollins or TEMPLE by Matthew Reilly or his most recent book SEVEN DEADLY WONDERS. Or you might like Jane Lindskold's 'Wolf' series. Or if you like fantasy along the scale of the Rings stuff try Dennis McKiernan's duology INTO THE FORGE and INTO THE FIRE. He also has a trilogy in one volume called the IRON TOWER series. All are good reads for a hopeless romantic and some one who truly enjoys works that move, yet have a definite substance to chew on in your mind. Enjoy!

if you like eragon and harry, then i would suggest lemony snickets: a series of unfortunate events. you may have already read them but if not, i strongly recommend them.
then theirs always the classic chronicles of Narnia books. they have a Christian allegory, but if you're not a Christian you might still have a good read.
and of course, the all time classic lord of the rings trilogy. you probably know about them.
and, while I'm suggesting classics, i have to put in my personal favorite book, movie, and story: Oliver Twist. i's a book by Charles dickens, about a young boy, who was born in a work house and his mother died from the strain of giving birth. i didn't think i would like it at all at first. i thought it would be stupid, but it is now my favorite book.
um, have you read eldest yet? it's the 2nd book in the inheritance trilogy. (eragon)
in my personal opinion, romance novels are only good for starting fires with.
well, i hope this helped. you can email me about any book questions you have if you want, my email is lemonynutcase@yahoo.com

Lord of the Rings, by Tolkien and the Dark Tower seriesby Stephen King. Be warned; Stephen King is pretty graphic and has quite a bit of swearing. Oh, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card is another good one.

IF you like fantasy try either of these books:
Wayfarer Redemption by Sara Douglas
The Sword of Shanara by Terry Brooks
both are the first books in a series.
Hope you like these.

This might not be exactly what you are looking for, but my favorite book of all times is The Lovely Bones. It has so many different emotions in it. I remember one year in school just about every girl read that book.

Try "Wicked" - the story of Oz before Dorothy got there. It's almost as good as the musical!
