Whoa! You just mentioned what I've been thinking about for months now! My family disagrees with me wanting to drop out of college to pursue being a musician because they think education is first. I say dreams i.e. music comes first. I still haven't made my decision though.

I'd have to say if you are in high school, definitely concentrate on studying. Few rock bands last more than 4 years, and fewer yet are successful enough to payoff as well as college does in the long run.

i would say do both they are both important especially if being in a rock band is what you are planning to do later on in life and college i good for the same reason.
try doing both and if it doesn't work put the band off for a while just do rock in your spare time

i've got been enjoying in bands for some years and stable drummers and bass gamers are a lot greater durable to discover than guitarist needless to say. along with your historic past, bass feels like the obtrusive decision. None of your previous experience is going to help a lot with drumming. that's an entire diverse international.

I hate to be a killjoy, but you should definately go to college first. Education is not a path of conformity, but more a means for an artist to develop his/her unique voice and to find the ideas that are most appropriate to him/her. Basically what i mean by that, is that you should educate yourself first, before trying to send out a message to the world

I would go with playing in a rock band...you can do your studies on the road......

first college . but you can play in a band til you enroll into college..and still play in the band when you get out .and
during the vacations. spring breaks
