My boyfriend and i have lived together for the last 3years and he has supported my daughter and me for the last 3 years i cannnot work due to being disabled can he claim my daughter for anything on his taxes since he supported her and she has lived here for the year and no one else can claim her?

The rules changed a couple years ago. She is your qualifying child even if you don't have income and don't file, so she can't be his qualifying relative.

Taking the IRS jargon out of that - no he can't claim her. He might be able to claim you, though. In any case, he can't file as head of household based on having you as a dependent.

I claimed my girlfriend and her kid once or twice. I got audited and they didn't say a word. This was several years ago and it could have changed. They need all the money they can get so the multimillionairs can get a break.

he would have to adopt her 1st....you can claim her...her father can...or you get married......1 of the above...to be a dependant
