I would say you may want to try it with gouache on a primed piece of illustration board. Your style doesn't use paint (oil or acrylic) the way it's meant to be used, and you may be able to manipulate it better. However, my above statement is kind of loaded if you think about it, so keep it as a suggestion. If you're trying to be realistic, I would try to look at proportions more closely, but as an illustrative character, it is intersting in a edward gorey sort of way.

I think it depicts a woman who strives for perfection in every way. The perfect hair, perfect lips, perfect eyes. She even starves herself. She will never be happy, because she will never be perfect. The real her is hidden under so many layers it leaves a cavern in her mind. She can't just be herself. She has to pluck her eyebrows and flatten her hair and pose perfectly. No matter how hard she tries, the farther she buries her true self. To her, there is a hideous gaping hole in her imperfection, as if society has shot a bullet through her head exposing her insecurities. She is misguided and miserable.

hmm. I couldnt see it that well - a bit dark. Is it a hole going through her head?

I could study that for a while and get a few different meanings from it . I like it when you can do that with a picture.

It also reminds me of the film Kill Bill for some reason...

I like very reveling about your personal feelings. I think that art is more powerful when raw emotions are involved rather than just painting a pretty picture

Honestly? I like the technique but trying a little to hard to be weird and deep. You obviously have talent though!

I like it... I'm not sure the digital version of it is doing it justice. It is beauitiful. I bet it looks tons better in person.
