I have a 1988 Chevrolet S-10 4WD Blazer with a 4.3 liter with a Throttle Body Fuel Injection system and automatic transmission. My PCV valve comes out of the grommet and fumes come into the cockpit, not to mention the loss of oil. Is this a top cylinder problem or is something plugging the lines up? Do I need to clean something. Also causes a drop in oil pressure.

There is a vent hose from the valve covers (not the PCV) that vents into the intake near the air filter.
There is a mesh type filter that plugs up over time.
If that's plugged up, the crankcase will pressurize because the PCV can not handle large volumes of air.

If the valve is clogged, you're lucky it's popping out. The pressure buildup in the engine can blow seals.Replace it and the grommet it plugs into, and make sure the hose going to it has good vacuum.

Check the valve and make sure it has vacuum on it. The 4.3 was bad for the vacuum port in the throttle body to get clogged. Pull the hose off the throttle body and check for vacuum. If none, you will need to remove the throttle body to clean.

Sounds like you have a motor with rings worn so badly that blowby is pushing the valve out. That would explain the fumes. Blowby smells REAL bad, and is definitely toxic.

Better get to a mechanic and see about a new or rebuilt, or maybe a new car.

is the pcv can good..and check the lines see if they are clogged..it sounds like blow back issue..it might be time to see a service tech..pcv vents the crankcase gases..and if its popping out you have some kind of pressure some where...and the oil pressure changing is not good...see a tech..

try replacing the valve...it may be clogged...why the pressure is forcing it out....
