The title of the book needs to be underlined. You use quotation marks when writing the name of the chapter or the name of a poem. Italics are not used in high school level.

I hope that this helps.

Underlining and italicizing items such as books an newspapers can be done interchangeably. However, when it is typed, it is usually preferred to be italicized, but since it easier to underline written text than to italicize it, underlining the title of a book is perfectly acceptable in such an instance.
The only thing to worry about it is when to use quotes and underlining/italicizing

Both are fine, underline was used in the days of typewriters, and italics when bibliographies were printed. The Harvard allows you to use both, the best rule is to be consistent.
