your labret is the sucken in part between your chin and lower lip, a lip piercing is actually on your lip

Lip piercings most of the time would be on a side of your lip or right in the middle of your lip. Labret piercings are a usually little lower down (between the lip and the chin) and they are right in the middle.

the lip piercing is actually in the lip the labret is under the lip

lip piercing is closer to the actual lip area and the labret is the crease/dimple above the chin.
