I mean, president Ford, was a very nice man and seems like he was a good president and we should certainly respect his passing, but I don't know why it bothers me to see our flag flying like that for THAT long, it's kind of depressing. I think one week should be plenty of time for someone's passing, even if it was Mother Teresa. What do you think?

I know it is 30 days, but my question is how do you feel about it being that long.

I mostly agree. It has been down a while. I wonder if there is a set time for that sort of thing.

EDIT-If it's 30 days officially, I have absolutely no problem with it.

He was a President and its simply a sign of respect and to show some rememberance. I think a month is a perfect length of time to show mourning.

I believe that the official mourning period for any president or ex-president is 30 days.
