No, you have got it wrong, the goverment pays them little attention, not money.

The rumour that protestors are paid is spread by by the war mongers to help reduce the impact that a million protestors have on thier demands for more funds. The same silly stories were spread during the vietnam war...

No, but I and most of America knows about the right wing (data base) propagandist spamming Yahoo Answers that gets paid like Rush Limbaugh. That is what the Jack Abramoff treason is all about.

that is just full of it..I have attended many protests and know a lot of other activists who do the same..not only are we not paid but we spend money for transportation, food, signs, markers, parking, etc. some taking off work even, The most recent protest was on a Saturday.

I have heard of people paid to gather petition signatures. I think people on the right are so ticked they lost congress and hundreds of thousands showed up Saturday, that they will say anything to try to undermine it.

I confess, George Bush gave me a million dollars to protest the war, and he paid me to lie about the WMD'S, and the yellow cake, and out the CIA operative, and he only paid you $300 to sell your soul to the Devil Rove. Don't you feel cheated, don't you feel like a fool.

One thing I heard on the radio was that homeless people are paid $50 a day...
And having worked in car insurance, I believe it. Homeless people were paid sometimes only $100 to say that they were in a car accidnet (often $2000 or so) so that their names could be used for the medical insurance. Real doctors would be duped into being part of scams where fake bills were generated for the homeless person, who was never hurt. NY state gives up to $50,000 for each person's medical bills... and the homeless got a small chunk.
So anyway, if the homeless people were used for one thing, I don't see why not another...
Green is green is green.

I have heard the name rent a crowd.
It happens I heard of a case in India a while back where they gave the poor people a bus trip and a free lunch to gather and create havoc in a certain place.
The local people had enough integrity to stay in their homes on that day they did not get involved in it.
So yes it happens.

Take care!

I think that by now you'd have to start paying people to support the war

I haven't. Wouldn't think you would need to. There are enough morons out there who want to waste their time.
