N is a newton, the unit of force in the SI or MKS system of units. Pressure is generally expressed in Pascals, where 1 Pa equals 1 N per square meter. This is a very small pressure. One atmosphere of pressure (the pressure you breath at sea level) is roughly 100,000 Pa or 100,000 N /M^2 which is also about 14.7 pounds per square inch.

When talking about pressure, N is a reference to the SI (metric system) unit "newton". Although pressure can be calculated with any unit of force and any unit of area, you are probably using the equaion that results in pressure measured in pascals (Pa), the equation being Pressure = x Newtons/y m^2.

N stands for Newton which is the unit of force. Pressure is measured in Newtons per square metre.
Its also a sort of biscuit/pastry filled with figs.

A Newton is the metric unit of force in MKS units (meters-kilograms-seconds). One Newton is defined as the amount of force F required to accelerate (a) one kilogram of mass (m) by 1 meter per second per second. That is, the mass will increase in velocity by 1 m/s every second. It is appropriately named after Isaac Newton who was the first to observe that F=ma.

Without more information I will tell you that
N is for...
Newtons- force = kg m / s 2
N- Nitrogen, common inert gas used in pressure testing
N- common mathematical unknown variable 2n+2y=
N can denote a measure of purity, referring to the number of nines after the comma. So a substance of purity 3N is 0.999 (99.9%) pure, while a substance of purity 6N is 0.999999 (99.9999%) pure.
n can be used to denote number of moles.
N can be used to denote Normality, a measure of concentration

Newton?
I thought it was the amount of moles in a substance...like PV=nRT?
ah well I might be wrong..
