Well, sure. If you play video games TOO much, you may wake up one day and realize that you have no life, and that the only people who understand what in the world you're talking about is other severe gamers. That might make you feel a little better, that at least SOMEONE out there is like you... until you realize how socially challenged those people are too. At that point, you might just decide to end it all with a well timed jump and a speeding semi.

No, you need to be unstable to begging with and have something else that triggers that desire to harm yourself.
Some ppl will say yes but maybe that person it's playing in excess becuase it want to forget his problems and when that does not work anymore they will do it, but is not caused by the video games.

At least no if you are playing the games that are rated for your age group.

It /could/ cause the player to have suicidal thoughts.
But that's just most likely a result of not enough sun, and sitting in your room all the time when you realize you have no life, no friends and nothing to do other than play video games.

--Not saying all video game addicts don't have friends, a life or anything to do.

in what sense?

In one sense, ANYTHING can make somebody kill themselves. people kill themselves because they're crazy or really really unhappy. if somebody is crazy and unhappy enough, then just about anything could set them off. failing a test, getting splashed by a rude driver, screwing up in a video game...

if you mean, can playing a video game magically turn a completely normal healthy person suicidal? well, NO.

even if brain-control devices to make people crazy exist, who would put them into a game? if you're a game company and you put something into your game to kill your customers, YOUR CUSTOMERS DON'T BUY MORE GAMES! so you go out of business!

Yup, I killed myself when I went on a Superman Returns for the Xbox game binge and my eyes started to bleed because it was so crappy. Luckily the doctors were able to rescue me but I am now a vegetable. Eat your veggies, Mr. BoJangles!

No just if an emo plays it then yes it could. if you know any freinds that are emo and are getting gears of war. dont let them!! And make sure there is not a group of them playing it. they might go out and get their dad's chainsaw and commit some murder and suicide.
