Yahoo began an update, but it disappeared

I would be VERY careful with any updates from Yahoo that you dont know about. Websites dont typically update software on your machine.

Now if you are talking about Yahoo messenger or Yahoo toolbar (different than plain Yahoo), this is normal.

Either way, make sure you are running a good antivirus and antispyware program. Also you need to do all critical updates from microsoft.
