For the most accurate information I would suggest buying the book, What to expect when expecting or What to expect when expecting: eating well. Both give very good information on nutrition.

Try to make your calories count but if you want something like a cookie then don't deny yourself. That is just ridiculous. However, try to avoid prepackaged foods that contain preservatives and trans fat. You'll feel so much better for it and it is better for you and the baby.
Try to eat iron rich foods. It turns out I'm anemic but they didn't catch it until recently. I have a c-section in five weeks and that is not enough time to bring up my iron levels. This means I might need a transfusion. So, eat your iron rich foods now.
Supposedly pregnant women are not supposed to eat lunch meat. I find this so very stupid and I've ignored it. I haven't had a lot of lunch meat but I've certainly eaten it when I've wanted to. They keep limiting what pregnant women can eat and soon we'll be down to only having food in pill form. There was no such lunch meat rule when I was pregnant with my first two. They're worried about listeria but by that logic we should be avoiding fresh fruits and veggies as well because of possible e. coli.
Basically, just eat a well balanced diet. It should be as nutritious as possible but having a treat here and there is not going to hurt you or the baby.

Do a search on the web - there are a lot of helpful sites out there with information on pregnancy.
Here is a good one: http://www.4woman.gov/pregnancy/pregnancy/dosanddonts.cfm
Do call an OB and get your first prenatal appointment scheduled, and ask any and all questions you have.
Do eat well-balanced diet, drink water (65-80 oz a day), take a prenatal vitamin with folic acid (you can get these over the counter, or get a prescription from your doctor).
Don't smoke, drink alcohol, do drugs, take any medication without checking with your doctor first.
Don't lift anything over 25 lbs. if you can possibly avoid it.
Do try to get plenty of rest.
Do find some good books and/or websites and read up on what to expect.
Do get exercise but don't overdo it, especially if you're not active to begin with.
Don't do sports like skiing, bicycling - things where you're more likely to fall or get hurt.
Don't use a hot tub or sauna.
Don't change a cat's litter box.
Don't pig out too much - adding an additional 300 calories a day is about all you need for extra energy.
Do write down questions as you think of them, and don't hesitate to ask your doctor.
Do enjoy your pregnancy!
Hope this helps! Congratulations!!

Do your own research
Do weight the benefits and potential risks (for example the risks of listeria over being so fearful of food that you don't eat a proper diet)
Do not listen to anyone source -including your doctor who received almost no training in nutrition, herbs, etc.
Do talk to your pharmacist, they are a very good source of information on all medications, and they are free. They are generally more knowledgeable than doctors.
Do not read any books that are fearmongering for the sake of raising their sales. Dr Sears books are good, bradely method, birthing from within. I could name a few really nasty ones but I won't. If you want to browse through my wishlist there are some interesting books on there:
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/registry/registry.html/702-8135542-1314446?ie=UTF8&type=wishlist&id=PSCNDTSWCJTN
Do listen to that little voice inside you that tells you if something is wrong.
Do realise that OBs are a surgical field and are only needed for high risk pregnancies and that there are plenty of other safer options available.
Do empower yourself.
Trust Birth!

DO enjoy every minute you possibly can...even when they aren't fun.....when it's all said and done, you grew a person inside of you! How amazing!
DON'T get offended if people touch the belly....it's something about the miracle of life...it's annoying but they really can't help themselves.
DO tell the nosy know-it-all who won't stop telling you exactly how you should be to take a hike......advise is great, but you're a big girl, and you'll be a great mom!
