I give it another 5 yrs. I also think it's fun and mind-broadening to learn at least one other language. People who live in countries bordering other countries have spoken several languages for centuries. I'm glad we're finally catching up. There'd probably be less racism and closed-mindedness, too, if we're able to talk to people in other languages. Think of all the friends we could have! Cool!

Claro que debería serlo. El idioma más hablado de América es el español, y TODOS VOSOTROS lo mejor que podéis hacer es aprenderlo.
Sed inteligentes y aprended español.

Never. We can't even get English passed as an official language. Good luck with getting a language not spoken by the majority of congress passed into legislation.

Mostly because of the ancestors of before them had brought
that kind of language to their land. There can be two official languages in a country that I think of. But if you like the Spanish
language so much then you can speak for all the time you want.
No body is stopping you accept the people that can't understand
you.

It may become *an* official language but is unlikely to become *the* official language in the foreseeable future. At the moment there is no nationally declared 'official language' - just as we have no uniformly accepted definition of what an 'official' language is. English is the de facto official language of the United States, but this is only by force of custom and not declared by law.
PS to locojoey - when you're talking about a woman it's 'hija de puta.'

Why does the United States need an Official language?
And why are some people so worried about a non-issue?
Does it have to do with the myth about the "Brown Horde" coming to take over the US?

Why is it that any issue that comes up it is assumed that the Democrats would do a worst job of keeping it under control.
Big business relys on Mexicans to give them Cheep labor.
Democrats are for helping the poor to get jobs.
They are not for open borders or work visas.
Why are we brain washed to believe that every single issue wether it is taxes or immigration? By not raiseing taxes and putting the country in debt it is like a man not paying any bills and saying yes but look how much money I have in the bank?
Why don't we all get a credit card and put our bills on a credit card and save the money we earn. See how long that works for you.

Depends.. If they keep crossing the border and making babies in the US that become citizens when Jose and Jose-B are born... Then real soon... Kinda like an epidemic.. Not to mention all the government aid that is going out the door to them... We have elderly in need of health care and children who are not under a health care plan, but God save the Mexicans that cross the border... PPPPPPHHHHUUULLLLEEEEESSSEEE--Don't get me started...
