Whilst someone is having a Reiki session can they be hypnotized at the same time through the Reiki?

Hi there,

The state of hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation. It is possible to enter a hypnotic state when driving, when reading, when watching TV and more.

As a Reiki practitioner and a Hypnotist I can speak on this with some degree of certainty.

When people undergo Reiki, they will usually enter a deep state of relaxation. A Reiki therapist is likely to call this meditation, but hypnosis and meditation are more or less the same thing.

Therefore, if someone is receiving Reiki it is entirely possible they could enter a hypnotic trance due to the relaxing nature of the Reiki treatment. The difference between this hypnotic trance and a trance induced during a hypnosis session is that work is not done on an unconscious level.

However, if you are doing Reiki to work with someone, there is nothing wrong with you giving healing suggestions (affirmations) whilst the person is deeply relaxed as it will help to enhance the Reiki and will work with the subject's sub-conscious mind.

Wishing you all the best

Jason

There could be Reiki practitioners that are also trained in hypnotherapy.

but specificaly; no. Reiki and hypnosis have no common link.

Reiki is the transmission of lifeforce energy to the recepient.

Hypnosis is through talk therapy, and getting the person's subconcious mind to cooperate, and changing what the subconscious mind believes to be true.

Reiki chanels more physical than mental energy like hypnosis can sometimes do. Reiki cleans out impurites from your meridians (channels of energy) while hypnosis draws out your own experiences and self beliefs to calm you and ensure you that you are enlightened. To be honest i have the same amount of belief in both therapies but they are both completely different holistic therapies. If you mean hypnotisim in the sense of calm, then that applies to many daily activities.

If you're familiar with hypnosis, then you've no doubt heard of Master Hypnotist Steve G. Jones. His book, "Ultimate Conversational Hypnosis" has been voted as the best hypnosis course ever made. The book is also available in electronic format at: http://www.hypnosistocontrol.net

If you want to get an edge in everyday communication and lead other people towards your goals this is a must read.

There is no relationship between the two. You could probably be hypnotized while receiving Reiki, however, I've never heard of such a thing.
