There are always ants and small black bugs in my cabinets. They get into my cereal, peanut butter(THE PEANUT BUTTER WAS SEALED TIGHT!), and everything else. It's ridiculous! I've tried to start leaving my snacks outside, but that makes my house look stragne! How can I get the ants out of my house?

i asked this same question earlier, and people told me that I'm not supposed to put food in the cabinets. ?? I thought that is what they were made for?
Please and thank you. :)

There are two ways to get rid of ants. Ants follow a path when they enter your house. If you know where they come in then you can sprinkle talcum powder (any brand) in the area. Also you can sprinkle it around your foundation of the house. Lime will also work out doors. They will take it back to the nest and it will kill them. The other way is to buy a box of 20 Mule Team Borax soap powder and mix an equal part of that and an equal amount of white sugar and sprinkle in the cabinets. They will be drawn to the sugar and they will collect the borax and take it back to their home and they will all be history. It will not take long.

Hi So sorry you are having a problem with the ants. You did not say if they were just regular yard ants or if it was those terrible fire ants like we have in the south. I have used black pepper to get rid of ants before. Just sprinkle the pepper in your cabinets and they should be gone in a few days. This worked for me so I hope it will you too. As for as the black bugs they sound like the little bugs that get into cornmeal and flour. If this is the case don't know what will help you there, other than calling an exterminator. Good Luck and God Bless

I get ants sometimes and I don't wait to get rid of them. I buy Raid ant killer and spray in the crevices of cabinets and counter tops, along the edge of the kitchen floor etc. I wait an hour or so and I go back and wipe up any residue that is left. It doesn't smell to good sometimes and I know it's a chemical but I can't stand ants in my house and I'm sure in H#ll not feeding them my food! Another thing my sister just told me today( if you don't want to use chemicals) is to sprinkle regular oatmeal around. They will eat it but they can't digest it and will die.

When I get ants it's because there is food somewhere exposed. Maybe the snack bags are opened a little and micro bite sized crumbs are getting out...that's all it takes for them to come, you could clean well and use some sort of ant killer in the cracks and crevices for a while...see wat happens, make sure you don't ruin the cabinets with any cleaner or spray.
Also what Lauren said, I've heard of that before...yup

'Ants: Sprinkle cinnamon and cheyenne pepper along house exterior to prevent ants from entering your home. Ants will not cross the line."
You could try this and see what happens
