Dreams are are a highly misunderstood part of your subconscious. If the technology exists, you'd better have a few hundred thousand hidden in your wallet.
You can alter your dreams by practicing lucid dreaming though. It takes practice but in the few times I've managed it, has been incredible.

You really want machines to influence your mind. Put aside machine failures and problems, there are virus and spyware going around.
You whole history and inner thoughts are subject to the public.
And possibly your brain can be fried also.

lol.... yes, and there is also a time machine that can send you back to the prehistoric era...and then come back all in the same day.
