Here is the html code to display an image

Make sure your image path (img src) is correct: http://yourdomain/folder1/folder2/imagename.gif

If you are getting the "red X" then your path is wrong or the image file is not there.

The tag is:
The path can be relative to the page I.E. "/images/logo.gif" or absolute such as "http://www.somesite.com/images/logo.gif"
