I am getting a new car soon and the only 4wd car I know of is the Subaru Forester or Outback or whatever. I need to know some good looking cars (not trucks or suvs) that have great gas mileage and 4-wheel drive. Thanks. Oh and if you know the gas mileage of the car please tell me that too.

I THINK YOUMERCA MEAN AWD . 4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES CAN BE SWITCHED TO 2 WHEEL DRIVE WHEN NOT IN USE . AUDI MAKES AWD IN ALL LINES OF THEIR CARS CALLED QUATTRO. MERCEDES MAKES THE 4-MATIC. BMW ALSO MAKES AWD CARS 3 AND 5 SERIES. MERCURY MILAN ALSO AVAILABLE WITH AWD.

Well first off, those vehicles you mentioned are not four wheel drive, they are all wheel drive. Four wheel drive vehicles supply the same amount of power to all 4 wheels at all times. All wheel drive vehicles use a computer to sense which wheels are slipping and transfer more power to the wheels that have traction.
You would not want to take a Subaru out mudding!

Almost all the major car manufacturers offer at least a couple of models that offer all wheel drive. For example the Mercury Milan is available in AWD.

I would suggest going to the manufacturers websites for more information on the available models.

Hope this helps!

Volvo offers some great all wheel drive sedans. You may have to look around if you are in the south, or order one, but there are lots in the north where there is more demand. The fuel mileage will be dependent on the model you choose, but you should get 25 or better out of the biggest, and better from the little S40.

All of Subaru's cars are four wheel drive. Check out the Tribeca, Legacy, or the Impreza. I still have a 1991 Subaru that I take out whenever it is snowy or muddy and my new car can't get through it. In the last five years I have probably spent $1000 in maintenance. They are great cars.

some Volvo models have AWD, but for value, safety, and economy, it's hard to beat a Subaru. Try the Impreza WRX. The new Ford Fusion is available in awd too.

Subaru Impreza (great gas mileage)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (not sure of the gas mileage, but it gets good MPG)
BMW cars with the "x" in the model name for e.g. 325xi (decent gas mileage)

There's more, but I can't think of anymore...hope this helps!
