Kimmie, if you have friends in the area, maybe you should plan a get together every week or so. You could go out to a restaurant/bar, etc. or alternate gatherings at people's houses. Join a book club. Figure out what you enjoy doing and see if there are any interest groups in your area that meet periodically. You can usually go to your local library and see if they have any interesting things posted on the community billboard.

Ok I feel your pain! My hubby is a pilot in the AF so I know what you're going through.
First off, figure out what you like to do. If you like crafts, pick up a new one. Knitting is really popular right now, as is crochet. I love to cross-stitch, and that's kind of fun too. If you like to cook, decide to try a new recipe each week. Or compile all of yours into a book. I also recommend taking up exercise. Get Netflix and you can order tons of different workout DVD's for free. Try taking a class of something too. Community centers or local campuses do them for minimal costs, and they can be really fun. I took a cake decorating class from jo-ann's once and it was awesome.
Also, if you live on or near base, I STRONGLY suggest you get involved with your FRG or wives clubs. Those have been lifesavers for me. They do play groups, get togethers, volunteer things, etc. It's great to have a support network and something to look forward to.
Good luck!

scrapbook! it's an expensive hobby, but you can get addicted while doing something productive. it is a great way to put those pictures to use and keep track of your daughter growing up this way your husband can see them all when he gets back and will feel like he didn't miss as much.
The albums last a lifetime, and it's way better than having pictures tossed aside in a box!

Get a telecommuting job so you can stay at home with your child.
There is a website that lists only jobs that are telecommute jobs.
You must have a resume and will have to interview for them, and some of them require you to have previous telecommute experience.
Many of them are sales or jobs where you have to have special skills such as web design but there are some customer service jobs there as well.
More info and job listings in the source

Are you away from your family? If so plan on taking a trip to go visit with them for a little while. If you live near a base there should be something where you can take your baby and get together with other Mom's and their babies.

Why not do an iron on quilt. My daughter and I are working on a quilt of the family. We take pictures and print them out on iron-on sheets. Then we use an inexpensive cotton flat sheet to iron them on.We call it our " Family Tree Quilt". It is easy to do on the computer and a printer.I made T-shirts for Christmas for my co-workers doing this. They loved it.When your husband comes home,he will see the different stages of your daughters growth while he has been away.Makes a great quilt too..And it will surely occupy your time...
