Why would I have a menstural cycle for 2 weeks after starting birth control pills and 6 weeks postpartum?

I had a baby 8 weeks ago, and had postpartum bleeding for 4 weeks. I had one week with no bleeding, then 1several days of a regular menstural cycle. I started taking birth control pills the Sunday after my cycle as I was instructed. Two days into the pack of pills I started bleeding, and haven't stopped, it has now been 15 days. I'm not talking spotting, it is regular to heavy bleeding. Does anyone know why this would happen? This is my third child and I have never had problems like this.

so, your system is going to be screwed up after having a baby and then starting birth control.... especially birth control. usually, this is not the case with birth control pills... so i would suggest that you give your doctor a call in the morning just to ease your mind. even if it does require an extra trip to the doctors office.
