i went in their once, back when they claimed they only sold goods made in the U.S.A. and noticed that their employees for the most part were incredibly huge. it has to cost alot for them to maintain their mass.

I think they pay pretty well here, but then, our local McDonalds starts out at $10 an hour.

My sis-in-law works for Wal-Mart and loves it - just got another promotion - so they can't be all *that* bad.

My Neighbor has worked for Walmart for 6 years and she is happy with the pay and health insurance.Alot of big companies won't even hire you right from the start. Some companies make you work through an agency for 3 months before they hire you.Walmart doesn't do that. She also gets 2 weeks vacation, sick days and personal days so it seems like it's an OK place to work.

I don't know, but I am glad to see that you had your nasty pills today. You know what, Wal-Mart may be disliked by a lot of people, but it has also been a boon to some of the very, very rural areas of our country where there were very few employment opportunities before Wal-Mart came in. You know, nobody is forcing anyone to work any where or to shop at a place that they don't care about. I don't see why you have to be disrespectful. All the Wal-Mart stores I shop at have only hot lookin' men and women working there.

Depends which employees you talk too. The ones that help you on the floor, stack boxes, shelve merchandise and do customer service get an hourly minimum wage and aren't allowed to work full time, therefore they don't get benefits. Walmart encourages them to get food stamps and medicaid if they can't afford to get by with what they make at the store. I know this because my mom works there. The employees who are the top management, ceo's and are the Corporate owners (the Walton family), get billions a year with top benefits, stock options and health club perks, limo service, hotel accomadations, top food service, child care and anything else they want.

They're not paid much and the benefits are pretty crappy - for the grunt store workers. I'm sure execs and other professionals are paid ok.

But then again, you want cheap crap from china in a cheap store, you have to have cheap employees. Most retail jobs don't pay much anyway. Come on, how much can we really pay low/unskilled stock people or cashiers?

Easy solution to all this wal-mart compaining-- don't shop there, don't work there. If you goofs stop shopping there or going to work there, they'll go out of business or have to change their practices.

Depending on what the employee does it pays minimum to above minimum. Not all Wal-Mart employees are huge. There is no discrimination as to how the employee must be when working there, as long as the person can get the job done.

It's MORE expensive to eat healthy, not less. It's easy to maintain mass on cheap food.

Not minimusm wage. Have to work so many hours to qualoify for health benefits and have a waiting period to qualify. There are worse places to work here in Montana where we are the 49th worst state for pay.

$6.00 to $7.00 an hour with only up to 30 hours in a work week. No benefits. It is noted that over 50% of the Walmart work force draws Medicaid and food-stamps to exist and they work....What's wrong with this scenario......

I'm sure they made more than minimum wage, but that will change when minimum wage goes up. It's been over 20 years since they got everything from the US.
