there is no way, only in four moves is the smallest
this is if you are white
first, move pawn in front of king out two spaces
next, move bishop diagonally so it can capture pawn beside king away from queen
third, move queen to protect that spot
finally, bishop takes that pawn
you have won

Just remember that winning in 3 moves is not the mark of a good player. It's the mark of a terrible opponent.

But yes, two moves is the minimum to win for Black, three moves is the minimum for White. The pattern is the same, the f-pawn and g-pawns move and the opposing Queen checkmates the King. No big deal.

Assuming you're opponent cooperates, the following moves would get you a checkmate in 2:

White: Black:
f2-f4 d7-d6
g2-g4 Qd8-h4++

Is that what you're looking for?

I think the general idea for a quick checkmate is to attack the weakside of you're opponent's board (the side opposite you're opponent's queen) with a combination of your queen, bishop/knight. Also, you're King must not have an escape root so they must not move the pawn infront of their queen for you to be able to do a quick mate.

This is not known as the Fool's Mate because 2...g6 blocks the check. That's also why White's second move is listed as 2.Qh5+ and not 2.Qh5#.

I respectfully disagree with Mark. there's a three flow mate. right here that is: a million.e4...f6 2.d4...g5 3.Qh5 ++ Checkmate relaxing to understand, yet no longer really of a lot use except your opponent makes 2 terrible strikes to start up the game. have relaxing.

The moves you make are to put your queen's pawn out 2 spaces and then your king's pawn one space.

You opponent must move his king's bishop's pawn out and his knight's pawn out two.

You then move your bishop into check on the rook file on King's side and there ya go.

I actually pulled this off once against my brother MANY moons ago...

Fool's Mate is mate in two...

White plays first

f2-f3 (pawn in front of bishop to right of king forward one square)

Black moves

e7-e5 (pawn in front of king forward two squares)

White moves

g2-g4 (pawn in front of knight on king's side forward two squares)

Black moves

d8-h4 (queen moves diagonally - king is in check - CHECKMATE!)
