As a kid, I did. But I think that it forces people to do things that they maybe don't want to do, like buy presents for someone they don't even like, but are forced to by society. I am disenchanted by it really.
It's a waste of time, and it's all about fakery and commercialism in most cases.

At one time I did. It was my favorite time of the year. But the last couple of years I just get very stressed. I work a lot of long hours in a hospital.Especially the census picks up around November so by the time Christmas get here we are really busy, then there is all the presents to shop for, the party's, Just when you think I may have enough money to go around. Our church has there Christmas for the needy family, Then you go to work and there is another Family that has been chosen to help at Christmas. Then you check your mail box and there is the letters from the local Charity's wanting money. This is the reason I get so stressed out. Its like you forget the reason for the season when you get all wrapped up in the other stuff.

christmas means a lot to me because it gives me a chance to spend quality time with the people i love the most. Christmas has become too commercialised though and a heavier emphasis is put on spending lots of money than it is on people actually putting their differences aside and spending time together.

Define what Christmas time is and means: Was jesus Christ born on the 25th December while shepherds watched their flocks by night? very doubtull, the flock would have been in barns or somewhere inside because of the frost and winter weathers. So what was the shepherds watching... If they were!

I used to love christmas. Since my partner died just over 2 years ago I hate it. I find it very depressing and extremely distressing. Maybe one day I might get back into the spirit of things.

Only if I was in like Miami or something. 80 degrees, Palms, and Sun. Just lazing on the beach, drinking margaritas, listening to jimmy buffet and watching the exotic latin chicks on the beach.

Yes and no. I love the spiritual side but am frustrated with the materialistic side. This year, instead of going overboard with gifts, we decided to just give a few and share our faith instead. The kids loved it and we felt like we were doing what Christ called us to do.
After all, it is His birthday?!?

I concur with A.C.
It takes a brave free-thinker to say "hey, I'm only doing this because I was raised this way; I don't believe in it anymore."
But the time is always right to spend time with loved ones and to praise your heroes.
