This happened to me so I pulled my buggy back into the store, walked through the detector without it and didn't set off any alarms.I then got my buggy and told them that I had paid the amount the cashier asked and the items in the buggy now belonged to me.If they wanted to check the items they should call the police and get a search warrant. They just told me to have a good evening and didn't check anything.

Leave! I went thru the line w/3 DVD's in the seat of the cart, visible the whole time, somehow I forgot to throw them on the conveyor. Realized there were there when I got outside, went back in and paid, but then realized that no one else noticed - not even the girl who's supposed to be watching for things like that! They are so lax on security, and you did nothing wrong. It's not worth your time to go back in!

I would just go back, because if you ran they are gonna chase you which would wind up bothering you anyway. And running reqires energy. Plus you could always take your anger out on the person who unfairly stopped you. Did that actually happen?. If so, I'm interested to know what you did.

I would have stopped for maybe 30 seconds. If no one approached, I would continue. Half the time them things go off because the cashier forgot to de-magnetise something properly or a malfunction.

You're not in the mood to be bothered, but you're going to be bothered whether you go back or let them chase you. How much time do you want to save?

Depends on MY mood. Its true, I paid and they didn't run items across the demagnetizer. Sometimes I turn around and smile, other days I grit my teeth and keep on! They want me, they can run! Then I point out the register I was at, and ***** because they're wasting my time!

In the end, just taking 2 minutes to show them your receipt and get that one stray item deactivated will be a lot less trouble.
