It's not a matter of choice for them. They either have to find the best recipe that would go with their fries and conform to health regulations or run the risk of being "ostracized" for their present tasty, but health-risky fries.

There was an article today that stated McDonald's is pretty close to the"perfect" healthy oil substitute and has started testing in over 1000 locations. Who knows, we may never even be able to tell the difference but our hearts will. Good luck to McDonald's! I, too, am a big fan of their fries.

>>I don't think it will make a difference if they choose wisely.<<<
Firstly, the main reason the stick to trans-fat oils is not the taste, it's the price (they help preserve food, see the movie Super-Size Me for more details)...so you should likely be worrying more about the price of your fries then any difference in taste (your body can not taste the difference between saturated and trans fats).

Secondly, even if for some reason they picked a godawful cheap brand of non-trans-fatty oil.,..any good cook can spice up an oil in such a way it is very tasty (or create a recipe for machine to make it with in bulk for McDonalds)...even ultra-healthy olive oil can be substituted for corn oil with the right seasonings (I should know, my girlfriend is a professional cook).

So enjoy your fries and don't worry so much. :-)

they just changed their oil 3-5 years ago. Wow, there will won't be the same. This is the same thing that happened to KFC Chicken, changing the recipe in '68 and '84.

Their fry's will never be the same, but your healthy body will thank you for that.
