They could...but I doubt it. I wish I listened to more of their music to help you....Usually it's all done with a keyboard, they can switch it to make it sound like a marimba or other instruments...

i was in pit for a couple of years (when i had braces and couldn't play trumpet). honestly, if you think you hear a marimba chances are it's not real. they use a lot of synth. so good luck. if you want a song with marimba in it to try out there is always "the nurse" by the white stripes.

If your talking about the sound you hear at the begining of I write sins not tragedies that is a guitar. The sound is achieved by using harmonics which is kinda like halfway between a note and a scrape. fairly hard to master with consistancy but practice practice practice and you can get it as the part itself is not too hard to memorize.

no they dont....if u have the cd and look at the back credits it says they don't. the extra stuff they do use is the trumpet, cello, viloin, accordion, organ, piano, keyboard.
