I have had this pain on my lower right side. Just below where my rib cage ends and above my appendix. I have had it since last Thursday and it seems to get worse at night when I am laying down although I can feel it all the time. I can press down and it is very tender. I know people will say, 'Why dont you just go to the Dr.'s?" But I have no health insurance. I guess I am trying to get an understanding on what it could be so then I will go to the Dr.I'm 22, I have never had menstual cramps and had a baby 5 months ago. I have seen on here that it could be a tubal pregnancy. Wouldnt 5 days make a HUGE difference on the pain scale? It has gotten worse but not dramatically. Any ideas folks?

There is a lot of area between your rib cage and your appendix - since the appendix is practically near your hip. Is the pain closer to the ribs or to the appendix?

If it's closer to the ribs, that's the liver on the right (above the waistline). If it has moved from your side toward the front, it could be a kidney stone.

Have you had your appendix removed already? Because they say the pain from appendicitis actually migrates from near the naval at first and then moves closer to the actual appendix area.

Obviously, you do need to be examined by a physician sooner, rather than later. Your baby needs and deserves a healthy mother. Take care, and good luck!

First of all, your appendix is on the RIGHT side. If it was me, I'd take my temp to see if it was up. That would tell me if I had any kind of infection. If you have a slight temp, then watch it for the next 8-10 hours, and if it stays there or goes up at all, then call your doc on Tuesday for an appointment. Meanwhile, try some GasX and see if that helps. About 20 minutes after you take it, try getting into this yoga pose called the "Wind Letting Pose". I am NOT kidding!!! LOL It's a lying posture, on your back, and pull your knees up towards your chest till you can wrap your arms around them. If there's anything in there, this should help. In yoga class, when we do this pose, somebody always lets one rip. How long have you had the pain? Have you had a bowel movement lately? You could be constipated, or you could have a twisted bowel, which is way serious. If it gets unbearable, then you'll have to go to urgent care or emergency room, but if it's gas, you can work this out on your own and save the hospital call. Good luck, bud.

A tubal pregnancy would have other symptoms as well. Such as bleeding between periods, nausea and a few other things ( i had one).
There are a variety of things in that area of the body so you cant really get a correct diagnosis or even a good guess. If you are running a fever, vomiting or the pain is so bad you cant function you should go to the ER. As far as not having health insurance look for women's clinics or free clinics in your area. A lot of times you can find low or no cost health care if you look around a little bit.
Aside from that. You are in pain..it isn't going away..you cant figure it out..Go to the doctor. Could be anything.

besides a tubal pregnancy,, which would be lower side,, your gallbladder is just below the ribcage and above the ovaries. Gallbladder disease may cause a side ache, and when it progresses, will cause more pain after eating fatty foods. If this is suspected, they will do an ultrasound to check for stones. If this is the case, it is a simple outpatient surgery to have it removed. This has become much more common in young people in the last few years.

It could be many things, my first thought was appendix, but you just said that it was above it, it could probably rule out your ovary too....but , you could be having a problem with your gall bladder, that is the area that would be tender...so even though you don't have insurance, try to see a doctor to rule that out, you don't want to wait until you are doubled over in pain, especially if you have stones. It could also be your liver, God willing it isn't. Hopefully, its' nothing serious. Good Luck. But see a Doc asap.

Your appendix can be infected, and cause pain but not a huge amount of pain. But if it ruptures, that's an emergency and you will have a lot of pain and probably be sick to your stomach. You really should go have it checked out.

These things are always cheaper if you get it taken care of BEFORE it turns into an emergency. Those are the big bills!

No idea. But if you think it's possibly a tubal pregnancy, then you need to go to the doctor, even without the insurance. They are very dangerous.

Yes you do need to go see the doctor, if it is getting worse then it may be something that needs to be dealt with right away, If you don't something seriously bad could possibly happen, I know what you mean about not having insurance but better to be safe than sorry.
