i love this song by chris daughtry,but i don't get the music video. did he go to jail or something, and that's why his wife was mad? was she even his wife?

The guy from the couple was away from his girlfriend. He wanted to give her something she would never forget. Of course, they are truly in love. The guy was trying to get money to buy her an engagement ring, which totally surprised her at the end. I guess the song means that although he is away for some time, their relationship is not over...that's what I think it means..
