Its a killer giving up but you are past the hardest bit believe me. Dont go back now. I did the patches too. Take them off at night despite what they tell you, they make you very paranoid and have nightmares. When you feel the need for a ciggy then drink a glass of water. Keep on the move for the next week or two, wash the car every day sort of thing. Get up straight after meals, no hanging around siting through the time you would have had a cig. Finally.........put the money you would have used on cigs in a jar everyday and give to your now long suffering girlfriend whop has to put up with this lunatic at present. Good luck you can do it!

It is the best thing you can do for yourself, your family, and your girlfriend. Stay with it, and keep on trying no matter what. You will succeed. There are many on Yahoo Q/A that are quiting, it is good if you have a hobby of some kind that you do with your hands, like woodworking, writing, typing, etc. to replace the habit of having a cigarette. Your own health will improve once you are free of nicotine, and there will be no danger of secondhand smoke to others either.Look foreward to success, when you will be smoke free.

I'm reading Allen Carr's 'Easy Way to Stop Smoking', don't know if it work yet as you're not supposed to stop till you reach the end of the book, and it's a big book. It's really motivating me though and I'm looking forward to stoping. hope it works and good luck to you.

hi
I know its hard but you can do it
Believe me it does get easier i have given up smoking a year tomorrow i cant believe its a year already
When the craving takes hold of you get up and move about walk up and down the stairs Make a cup of tea just do anything to take your mind of it
The craving really only lasts about a minute it just seems a lot longer
So don't give in it really will be worth it in the end

When I quit, I got sunflower seeds in the shell, then put several in my mouth and cracked them with my teeth and used my tongue to get in inside out. Takes a lot of time and gets your mind off of the cigarettes.

Good luck....it will be hard but worth it in the end. Suck on hard candy, suckers etc.... As you know you have to get over the habit as well as the addiction.
