A few years ago I found either a cream or aerosol spray (probably cream) at the sporting goods store that helps a lot. You apply it to the glove, put a ball in it and put it in the oven. It makes it softer and more pliable. You might even find it at Wal-Mart in the sporting goods section. Good luck!

Go to your local sporting goods store and by some glove oil. Work that into the glove then put a ball in the glove, fold it closed and put a strong rubber band around the glove to hold it closed and help it shape the pocket. Always store the glove that way when you're not using it. Also use it as much as possible between now and March, preferably in good 'hard throwing' games of catch. If the sports store doesn't have glove oil look for some neats foot or mink oil. You can generally find the mink oil where ever shoe polish is sold. Don't use motor oil or lubricating oil as they will rot the leather.

im an expert on this. lol.
First get glove oil and rub it around. helps break it in and waterproofs it.
Next see if u can find a maggy ball, its like a metal baseball. If not just put a baseball in it and rubberband it for a night or two. then use it a little. If that doesnt work there is some protective stuff u could buy and then u stick the glove in an oven and that helps.

- Buy some glove oil at a sporting goods store. Apply liberally, inside & out. Leave glove out overnight.
- Next day, use the glove as much as possible: play ball, have a catch, or just wear it.
- Apply another liberal coat of oil that night. Put a ball snugly in the pocket, stick the glove in a bag ('cause it's oily), wrap tightly with string or rubberbands (to keep ball in place), and stick it between your mattresses.
- Repeat: Keep using it, then storing it under your mattress wrapped up with a ball. You don't have to apply oil everyday, just as needed.
- If you're just sitting around watching TV, keep it on your hand and snap a ball into it.

This is the time-honored method and works quite well. Enjoy.

If you could gain access to a gymnasium and use the length of the court and throw with someone over a period of a few days that should break the glove in. This would be also be good if you live in a cold climate and that could save your arm any unnecessary pain or damage .This could also get you ready for the upcoming season

Shaving cream works real well. Lather the glove up in the pocket and on the outside it softens the leather pretty well. They is also some stuff I believe called Hot Glove, and areosol you spray on the glove and then place it in the oven. I was skeptical but it soften it up nicely. But shaving cream and whacking a ball into the glove always broke it in for me.

Yeah, as long as you practice a lot and just put it on everyday and move your hand around, maybe throw and catch a little. I used to keep my glove under my mattress to try to break it in, whihc will work as well.

use EDGE shaving cream gel, and rub on the inside...that will moisturize the leather, and just play catch with it...and toss a ball in and out of it from time to time...best way to keep it firm for a while, but broken in...don't use glove stuff you buy at a store it makes it too heavy and dirt gets all in it...the gel shaving cream is the best thing for it...
