K2 is the second highest mountain in the world after Mount Everest. it stands at 8,611 metres & located in the Karakoram segment of the Himalayan range, in Pakistan and China, on the border between the Gilgit-Baltistan region in the Pakistan administered Northern Areas, and the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County of Xinjiang, China.

K2 is not next to Everest its in Pakistan controlled Kashmir where as Everest is about 2000 miles east in Nepal.
