Was your complete recovery a repair of your operating system or a format and re-install. A format and re-install would certainly have fixed your problem. It would also wipe out all your data. If you did a repair then whatever is causing your pain is still in your machine.

You might have a virus or some spyware. Get some antivirus and antispyware software like Norton or Ad-Aware, and run a full system scan to see if that is the case.

Please forgive us for asking, but please add, like, three details: (1) type of connection (dialup or dsl or whatever) (2) what you're doing, typically, at the moment of interruption, and (3) what exactly the browser symptoms are (e.g., error message, or does it just vanish, go away, poop out, take the system with it, or what?)

Maybe you should in the meantime try another browser like Firefox or Opera

is your java version up to date? It should be some like version 5 update _10. Firstly remove all older versions before trying to download the latest one in add-remove programs

What "system", what operating system (windows XP, windows ME, Mac OS...) and finally what browser? Also it may help to know what the error actually is.
