No. I believe woman should start claiming their Independence by keeping their birth name. Woman wants rights so stop hiding behind someone elses name.

I did. Because my last name was long and I didn't care for it. I did like my husband's name.
I wouldn't have done it for traditional reasons, although there are good arguments for doing it to avoid confusion.
I would NEVER hyphenate. That's just silly. Unless it's a transitional thing you're doing for name recognition or for your kids. But you know what - the kids know you're getting married. Others can figure it out too.

Yes, because my last name was very difficult to pronounce. My maiden name is now my middle name. It's also the middle name for my two kids as well. Hubby was going to add my maiden name as a middle name as well, but after 12 years that hasn't happened yet. Hmmmmm....

I am not married but I will! It means a lot to me to take a different name b/c my father and I do not get along and I am soooo ready to drop his name. My mother is remarried so she got lucky and got a new last name.
