About the same as getting your ears pierced. It hurts for a few seconds....goes numb...and then you're okay. It'll be sore for a few days. Be sure to have some loose fitting pants/shirts to wear during the healing process. Jeans are the worst!!! Be sure to keep it clean and infection free and you'll be able to enjoy it for years!

Just one second of pain. Then a dull numbness. No problem. Just like getting your ears pierced.

had mine done on holidays in ierland, the guy i went to numbed my bellybutton, but it hurt later. if u get a banana bar, keep in mind that its like being impaled by a small, decorative piece of metal!! but its worth it i love mine!!

not alot u usually take a deep breath in then its done!!!! i had mine 5 years now
