Amendment XIII (the Thirteenth Amendment) of the United States Constitution officially abolished, and continues to prohibit, slavery, and, with limited exceptions, prohibits involuntary servitude.

It is the amendment that bans slavery and involuntary servitude except in the case of a convicted prisoner.
