We still have so far to go. I see racism every day. I live in California and I never really paid attention to racism growing up. I'm white and lived in a small town where there were whites, mexicans and blacks. When I joined the army and was sent to Georgia for AIT is when I really saw racism. I was waiting for some friends at the bowling alley and some white guys and girls asked me if I wanted to sit with them because I was by myself. I told them no thanks I was waiting for my friends from my unit. When my friends got there, the white guys said, "Oh now I see- you're a ni**ger lover". That's when the fight started. I could not believe those people had said that. I never really saw much racism in California so I couldn't believe that these guys had the nerve to say that but hey- that was just the tip of the iceburg. You wouldn't believe some of the racism I saw while I was there. I went to a rollerskating rink with some friends and it was like in the movies- all the white people in there and in comes this white woman with these black guys and girls- the music stopped, all heads turned. I couldn't believe it. There were times when our base was on lockdown because the KKK was having rallies in town. They would drive through the base and toss their flyers out the window. It was crazy. I thought the world had changed, but then I realized it really hadn't. Now it seems that the racism is more toward the people in our country of middle-eastern descent. Ever since 9/11/ these poor people have been harassed. I don't think the racism will ever end. Someone, somewhere will always find a reason to hate someone that is not like them.

Racism is still a serious problem in various regions throughout the world. The NGO's and other organizations are making great efforts in its reduction and eleimination. Hope that the mature humanity will realize soon the necessity of survival and progress of the noble human race by eliminating all forms of cancerous prejudices. Individually, we must learn to love unconditionally, even the racists because they have not reached maturity themselves. Love will beget love.

I think racism is a self perpetuating situation that propagates itself by virtue of the fact that it is so often brought to the forefront. Sure there are a lot of racists out there that are going to hate others based on their ethnicity, whether black, white, or some other ethnic heritage. It is a profound fact that the ethnic diversity in the world is a major problem in every culture. I think we make it an even bigger problem by making it a big deal in every thing we do. If we weren't so prolific in making issues of it it wouldn't be such a big deal.

We haven't gone far at all. Black women had to straighten their hair just to be accepted. They never accepted us black people for who we are
The only way racism will stop, is if everyone looked almost exactly alike because we have to consider the mating factor.
White guys will always have a problem with white women getting with black men

Racism has changed....there is now racism for every person and every race. You can't forget that people are racist against white people, think about the fact that due to requirements that jobs have for minority groups actually qualified people get passed up. And in case you are wondering the caucasion race is now a minority atleast it is in CA!
