Traditionally the Conservative party supports the rights and freedoms of the individual, to encourage them to invest money, become wealthy, work hard, and support themselves independent of the state. This causes great inequalities between rich and poor, but the party argues that the country on average benefits significantly from this policy.

The labout party traditionally is closer to communism. Where each person is supported by the state, and the rights and fair treatment of the workers is supported.

However since "New Labour" came to power in 1997, this approach has been turned upside down to some extent. Tony Blair changed the party to become similar to what the conservatives were, and the new conservative leader is moving his party the other direction.

I expect it will all sort itself out once Gordon Brown makes a hash of being PM, and we'll be back to the old ways once again.

The labour party have a social conscience and spend the countries income on services that benefit the majority whereas the Tories tax the poor to keep the rich and give nothing to society except to keep the lower paid people subservient to the richer classes.
If you have a social conscience never never consider the conservatives as an alternative to labour, I saw them in action in the 1980's we do not want to go back to high unemployment, record bankruptcies and social division which existed under this corrupt party.

Old Labour was rather Communist power to the people, trade unions etc....,
Old Conservative was very capitalist, private business orientated
New Labour is old Conservative, so
New Conservative don't have a Fcuking clue what they are (actually latest news is they are a cyberpunk hippo in a tutu)

Policies seem to change everytime the wind blows. They will say what they need to get in power. EG Cameroon getting hard on immigration and how long until conservatives start playing the 'Lets get out of the EU' card. That'll swing them a few votes.

The Conservative Party is dead but will not lay down and let a real conservative party champion the over-taxed oppressed people of England.

As far as I know all political parties promise the earth for our votes then deliver practically nothing. They are not normal human beings and seem to have no idea of the difficulties people try to live with around them.

I know this one! "Conservatives" begin with the letter "C", as does the surname of their leader, David CAMERON. The New Labour leader's surname begins with the letter "B". That's the difference.

They also sit on opposite sides of the House of Commons.
