First album was something i wouldn't dream of listening to now; Whitney Houston's debut album; don't really know why I got it then; I only liked 'How will I know'. First album that I still have is 'Songs from the Big Chair' by Tears for Fears, mind you, it's been in my mum's garage for about three years!
Single is more difficult. I got 'Making your mind up' by Bucks Fizz in some offer so that doesn't count so it would probably be 'It's my party' by Dave Stuart and Barbara Gaskin (an Eighties one hit wonder if there ever was one!) bought from Woolies, where else?
Lastly, first CD was Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me by the Cure. Managed to get into stuff that was a bit more cred by the time I got a CD player!

I remember quite well. I was in 5th grade, not into music at all (unless you count Aqua and the original Broadway cast recording of Rent as serious music. Yes, I did suck back then.) and had recently gotten into the whole concept of the "Paul Is Dead" hoax that the Beatles placed throughout their records, though I had not heard a single song by the Beatles before that point (at least, not knowingly; I had found out about the hoax through a link from a South Park backmasking page.) Anyways, for what at the time was purely for "anthropological" reasons, I decided when I was in the music section of the Chapters (Canadian equivalent of Barnes & Nobles) on Yonge St. to buy both Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Magical Mystery Tour. I remember initially being scared to play the CDs because I knew that John Lennon was dead and as such, was worried as to what a dead man's voice would sound like. I was a silly kid. I forget which record I listened to first, I think it was Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which I did like a lot, but it was the next day when I popped Magical Mystery Tour into the player and heard I Am The Walrus for the first time that I realized that music could be better than the filth that I heard coming out of the walkmen and boomboxes of my older schoolmates. These two albums, but mainly Magical Mystery Tour, are fully responsible for launching me into an obsession with music, though I didn't look for any other bands until I discovered Led Zeppelin in grade 8.
As for the other parts of the question, the first vinyl that I ever purchased was a copy of Magical Mystery Tour at the Beatlemania shop on Finch St. (has since moved to Peter St.) because I wanted a copy of the infamous 24-page booklet that wasn't reproduced on CD.

The first record I had ever bought was Jail House Rock by Elvis Presley in 1957 - it was a 45 EP record and I had it for over thirty years when during a move the box it was in, along with a lot of other 45's and 78's, was accidentally dropped. The broken bits now form part of the garden path leading to a house in Botswana.

I love that one by Aha too but my first album was a few years before - I was 13 and bought David Soul's first album called 'David Soul' - he was the blond one out of the original Starsky and Hutch.

The first I bought, or the first I owned?
The first I owned was a single of the Piano Man...that was followed by....and I wish I were kidding....the Miami Vice soundtrack....
The First Album I bought was a little less embaressing....
I bought it when i was 12...it was one of the first albums I ever was just crazy about...
Peter Gabriel's SO
20 years later I own 2300 albums on vinyl, a few hundred CDs, and have 18,000 songs on my computer.
I still own it...although my vinyl has been collecting dust since I started using MP3's.
