As of now this is still a rumor. If you will go back in history the draft was abolished in April 1973.

The new "Democratic" Congress has more brains then the old "Bullheaded" Republicans.

Mr Bush may want more troops for his Iraq War but he'll be out of office and back in Crawford, TX before it ever happens.

Rep. Charles Rangel from NY City is the individual who hopes to get the "Draft" reinstated.

Suggest you check some military sites or go talk to a recruiter.

NO! The draft is not coming back. Some idiot just said that "the sons of white Republicans" would have to go to war--Idiot! Last time I checked, the draft board drafts everyone--that means Democrats too--otherwise he/she is arguing that only Republicans have ever fought for the country, which is a really stupid argument, and totally false. Incidentally, the person who raised the proposition of reinstating the draft is a Democrat. Bottom line, no draft is needed, no draft will happen, and people will still attempt to politicize the deaths of brave Americans who we sent to foreign lands, right or wrong!

Yeah..congress brought it up, but I really don't think that's gonna happen. Bush already reiterated that there will be no draft; however, he did add that they do need a bigger military. I also think that if congress institutes a draft it would be another reason to call Bush a liar saying there wouldn't be one.

Who knows what any congress would do. Political affiliation wouldn't really matter.

Some members of congress said they wanted to bring back the draft as a type of protest against the war in Iraq. It was only that, a protest, and is not coming back anytime soon.

The idea was brought up, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon. They say that modern warfare requires more training than is practical to give draftees. A draftee's tour of duty is considerably shorter than that of an enlistee.

I've heard in the news that the congress does want to bring it back. Which is messed up because innocent people are dying.

defense department doesn't want it and the American people don't want it but it keeps coming up. I doubt it's gonna happen and if it does it won't really effect me because I've already been to Iraq twice and will probably be going again.

He can try, but it's very unlikely the draft will be re-implement at this point.

No, because the sons of white Republicans would have to go fight this Republican war, and that ain't gonna happen.
