The party theme is 1920's - anything from that era goes. There will be tons of flappers and gangsters, so we're looking for something a little more unique. Suggestions welcome.

Well, you could get a little more involved than that. You could find historical figures you admire like movie stars Clara Bow and Valentino. or Anastasia Romanov and Rasputin (even though that happened in 1917, I won't tell) or Betty Boop and the Marx Brothers, Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, Eugene O'Neil, F Scott Fitzgerald, Gloria Swanson, Ernest Hemmingway. Or Charles Lindberg, her took off in 1927 for his historical flight to Paris.

Okay, now you have all these awesome ideas, which one did you decide?

Heh, before I read the rest of your info I was going to say flapper and gangster. Hmm. Although he was fictional you can go as Gatsby from the "The Great Gatsby" if you read that book. I'm not sure what your girlfriend could go as.

You could go as a person suffering horribly from financial problems and beg everyone for food with torn clothes and homeless look, due to the great depression.

how about actors from that era or dress as a proffesional of the era. like a dr or nurse with uniforms of the day.
