No, it's not. We know life is not an "end in itself" because it ends. Any true purpose would be eternal. The only reason to live is eternity. Or, as Paul put it, "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable" (1 Corinthians 15:19). In other words, if we suffer the pain of this life and then cease to exist, we really are screwed, and those actually working to improve the unimprovable are most miserable of all.
I'd say that God is plenty of reason to live. Live for Him.

Life is a process; it never ends. Only our forms end, like our physical bodies for example. But the physical body is not all that there is to life; it’s just the only part we can see. We move from one form to another, but our essence remains. The essence could be compared to a driver, while your body is a car. When a driver is in a car, he brings the car to life. But when the car’s lifetime finishes, the driver will have to leave it forever. The soul leaves your body forever, once the body’s lifespan finishes. It is the end, the end of the physical body’s existence. When your soul leaves the body, the end of the body comes, but there is no end of life, no end for your soul. Soul lives and it will keep traveling and entering different forms and having different experiences, until it gets 'filtered' to the point of returning into its origin. Hopefully that could count as a good enough reason to live.

Yes, a life is an end in itself, and no, we don't. We live because we were meant to be, regardless of what religion or ethnicity you are. What other reason would we need to live besides to exist?
Yes, no.

For the child life is an end in itself. For one who attains age and wisdom all the information possible is wanted and needed.

Life never ends sweetie! the bodies we live in here on this earth will grow old and tired, and someday die, but our souls never die! do you have a Bible? read John, chapter 3, verse 16. and just in case you don't have a Bible, here's what it says:
For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. John 3:16
God loves you and He has a purpose for your life! if you don't have a Bible, get one and start reading it.
a personal relationship with Jesus Christ will bring you eternal life.
I will keep you in my prayers.

Life is and the end and the beginning at once, which may be perceived as life without beginning and the end or perceived as you wish. and your wishes will be granted ... so Life is for you as you perceive it.Divine paradox, no right and wrong...Change a perceptions which based on belief and life will show up in different picture for you.

A tree has life, but what can it express? A dog has life, but what can it express? A rock, Atree, A dog all have consciousness, but what do they express. The purpose of life is to awaken to your unity with God in unconditional love. your duty is to express that to the best of your ability. The tree, rock and dog are the consciousness of God, They don't know any thing else and are restricted to being a tree, a rock and a dog. The human when wrought to perfection, will be and empty vessel which God will express his allness through.
