Why are staphylococci well suited for colonization of skin?

This is for my microbiology lab on water activity and osmotic pressures affects on bacteria. I would think that it has to do with the amount of salt on human skin, but I don't know.

shoot good question; i do know that most bacteria thrive on sugar and when you sweat you are releasing sugar molecules through your pores.
