I woke up today and noticed the news regarding President Bush's warning to Iran. I searched everywhere else to investigate how Iran is getting involved in Iraq. I knew there were Iranians in Iraq. They've been there for years, since the beginning of the war. However, we have been capturing many Iranians and obtaining intell from them, gathering DNA and conducting retinal scans on them for future identific. They have been traced to members of the IRG and the Quds Force. If Iran is not arming their bloodsworn enemies, the Sunni insurgents, and if any Shiite group they are assisting is an integral part of the “sovereign” Iraqi government backed by the Bush Administration, then what on earth can be the purpose of a direct presidential order to the troops to kill Iranians in Iraq? I am looking for an objective and honest answer, not hateful or disliking of the President (I'm sure I'll get them though). It's too easy to be angry. I want something with legitimacy.

If I were an Iraqi citizen minding my own business having breakfast in the morning and A grenade came flying through my door and exploded killing most of my family, it's just tough **** for me, right.

It's true, this is really no groundbreaking news. We have fought and killed Iranians all along when the need arose. We are not really backing Shia nor Sunni. I do kind of wonder what they thought the outcome of this war was going to be if not heavily handed by one faction or the other. I think it goes back to the intelligence before the war that Iraq was the most secular nation in the M.E. therefore civil war may be avoided. Another case of really bad intelligence. Also the thinking that Iraq had such an educated population compared to others in the region. This also proved false as most Iraqis with an education left during the Iran/Iraq war and it's aftermath. My thought is that by not taking enough time to think take the outcome before rushing into this, they have prolonged it much more.

The only legitimate armed Iraqi is one who belongs to the national military or police force. From what I've gathered, Iran has been supplying the Shi'ia militias, which contribute to the mayhem. If Iran wants to help, she needs to help with the government, not the outside Shi'ia forces. Any Iranian bringing in materials to make IED's, should be taken out. Any Iranian supplying RPG's to militias, should be taken out. There is a legitimate governing entity in Iraq, and the Shi'ia militias are not it...yet.
